The “Get Behind Me Satan” Men’s Retreat is a two-day and two-night retreat based on the life of one of the most relatable and loveable of all the apostles, St. Peter. Jesus called a very flawed man named Simon and by His grace transformed Simon into a rock of faith named Peter. Every man can relate to the flaws and struggles of St. Peter. Thus, the retreat’s primary goal is to use the events leading up to St. Peter’s three-fold denial of Christ as a reminder of our own temptation to walk away from Christ when things get tough.
The retreat will begin Friday evening, October 1st with check-in at 5:30pm at El Shaddai Retreat Center. The retreat will conclude on Sunday October 3rd following a special 12:00pm Mass at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Yorktown for all retreatants and their families. Space on the retreat is limited and accommodations will be bunk style. If the number of those registering exceeds the number of spots available, a discernment will occur. The full cost of the retreat is $125.00. This registration form with a $50.00 deposit made payable to St. Michael’s Catholic Church must be received to reserve your space on the retreat. Once your spot is confirmed, an email with more information will be sent to you. Financial difficulties should not prevent anyone from attending the retreat.
