We are the hands of Christ.
Father Michael Schmitz tackles some of the most difficult topics in the Church today. With compassion, clarity, and humor, he shows that the Church's teachings on contraception and same-sex attraction are rooted in the yearnings for authentic love that is shared by all, for everyone is made in the image and likeness of God.

Are annulments just a Catholic version of divorce? Nothing could be further from the truth. The differences are profound, and much of the confusion springs from a misunderstanding about marriage itself. Bishop Perry explains the key principles of the Sacrament of Marriage and then considers them in light of our secular culture of divorce. He offers a true explanation of annulments (or Declarations of Nullity). This presentation answers the most commonly asked questions on this topic.https://watch.formed.org/catholic-teaching-on-marriage-annulments-by-bishop-joseph-perry

The ending of a marriage is a difficult experience, and divorce is one of life’s tragedies. Many marriages end in divorce in spite of good intentions and the establishment of a family. The Catholic Church is sensitive to the pain and stress that a failed marital relationship brings to all involved. A primary role of the Tribunal of the Diocese of Victoria is to assist people who petition for a possible annulment. Unfortunately, there are many misconceptions about annulments in the Catholic Church. This informational handout provides answers to the most frequently asked questions about annulments.
Frequently Asked Questions About Annulments
El fracaso de un matrimonio es una experiencia dificil y el divorcio una tragedia de la vida. Muchos matrimonios terminan en divorcio a pesar de existir buenas intenciones o de haberse formado una familia. But from the beginning of creation, God made them male and female. For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh. So they are no longer two but one flresh. Therefore what God has joined together, no human being must separate. - Mark 10:6-0
The matrimonial covenant, by which a man and a woman establish between themselves a partnership of the whole of life, is by its nature ordered toward the good of the spouses and the procreation and education of offspring; this covenant between baptized persons has been raised by Christ the Lord to the dignity of a sacrament.

The Catholic Engaged Encounter (CEE) weekend is the preferred marriage preparation program of the Diocese of Victoria, recognized internationally as a high-quality program. CEE is Catholic-oriented, however it is open to all faiths, including those planning an interdenominational marriage.
The weekend focuses on the following:
The CEE weekend is an intense weekend of involvement during which each couple is offered the time and opportunity to question, examine, and deepen their relationship with each other and with God through personal reflection and couple dialogues. Couples are challenged to explore their relationship in a much deeper and more honest way than ever before.
Through a series of ideas presented by the team of married couples and a Catholic Priest, the engaged couple is stimulated to dialogue privately with each other on all aspects of married life - always from the viewpoint of their own lives.
Topics Covered:
The weekend begins on Friday evening with check-in at 6:30pm. Please eat dinner beforehand, as there is not a meal on Friday evening, but meals are included the rest of the weekend. Housing, including separate cabins for men and women, and retreat materials are also included with registration.
The weekend registration fee is $270 for couples being married in our Diocese, and $300 for others. Payment can be made on-line by credit card or check if completing on-line registration.
